Wiltshire Pension Fund Committee
The administration of the Fund is the responsibility of Wiltshire Council, which is designated as an "administering authority" in the Local Government Pension Scheme Regulations. The Council has delegated this function to the Wiltshire Pension Fund Committee.
Administering authorities have to act in the interests of all employer bodies within the Fund. Local authority pension funds are NOT separate legal entities from the administering authority, and therefore are not covered by trust law. Nevertheless, the role of the administering authority is very similar to that of a trustee, and members of the Committee therefore act in a virtual trustee role.
Details of the current membership of the Committee can be found on the Wiltshire Council website.
The Committee meets four times a year for normal business, and will also meet on an ad hoc basis to consider specific matters. Its main area of activity tends to be making arrangements for, and monitoring, the investments of the Fund.
