Less Than Three Months Pensionable Service
If you leave the scheme with less than 3 months pensionable service, you have two choices.
You can have a refund of your contributions.
- If you opt out of the scheme within 3 months, you will have your pension contributions refunded back through your payroll.
- If you leave employment within 3 months, we will pay your refund to you by cheque and there will be a national insurance and tax deduction from your refund. This refund cannot be paid until one month and one day after you have left the scheme.
Or you can can transfer your service with us to a new pension provider.
Your payroll department should send you a leavers factsheet and a decisions form. You need to return this form to us so that you can tell us about your decision. Alternatively, you can contact us if you need more information.
