2023 marks the 39th year of Volunteers' Week (1-7 June), join us and thousands of charities and voluntary organisations recognising the contribution volunteers make across the UK. With this year's theme of 'Celebrate and Inspire' we hope to encourage people to be the change that we want to see and get involved in volunteering in whatever way works for them.

The contribution of volunteers is often unseen and unrecognised by many, visible only through the incredible impact of their volunteering, so taking the time during Volunteers' Week to celebrate their efforts and all they contribute to our local communities, the voluntary sector and society as a whole has never been more important.

This Volunteers' Week, we want to acknowledge the significant contributions that all volunteers make, including the remarkable efforts of our own team who are making a genuine impact.

Mark Briggs, Wiltshire Pension Fund Operations Manager

"I was fortunate that the Wiltshire Pension Fund allow flexible working and gave me the opportunity to take one hour out of my busy schedule as the Operations Manager each week to volunteer at Ferfoot Care Home. It was daunting at first but 9 months later I've come to meet some lovely staff and residents that I look forward to seeing each week. The benefits I get from the experience have definitely helped to improve my overall wellbeing. Volunteering provides a healthy boost to your self-confidence, self-esteem and general life satisfaction and I would recommend it to anyone. You are doing good for others which provides a natural sense of accomplishment, pride and identity."
