We have been pleased to welcome two special guest chef crews - Hymans Robertson and Aon - to work alongside our existing teams.
Working with these third parties has not only boosted our operational efficiency, but also improved the accuracy of the data we provide to members about their benefits and ensured we can continue to deliver business as usual on a day to day basis.
What have Hymans been up to?
Most kitchens have some old ingredients hanging around in the store cupboard and we invited Hymans Robertson to assist us in clearing these up and getting them prepared and ready for use.
As part of our WPF Business Plan 2023/24 (PDF, 469 KB)(opens new window), Wiltshire Pension Fund has set an objective to entirely remove our operational backlogs (defined as open case-work which is older than our KPI targets), with Hymans tasked with working through this backlog of aggregation cases along with ensuring all member records are up to date. In addition to sharing this workload, this project has led to the review and development of some of our own processes leading to improvements and efficiencies we can take forward.
1745 aggregation and leaver backlog workflows processed as of August
What have Aon been up to?
Any good chef knows the importance of precision in weighing and measuring ingredients, and certain elements can require extra careful consideration when incorporated into a recipe.
Over the coming year we will be taking over the processing of pensioner payroll from Wiltshire Council. By bringing this in-house and running it alongside our internal pension administration system, Altair, we will be able to streamline the payment process. Prior to this migration we need to complete a full payroll reconciliation process and ensure the relevant controls and framework are set up with the new payroll team.
Aon have been supporting us in reviewing our pensioner payroll and have been tasked with completing this reconciliation, bringing their knowledge and experience in this area. We are also working closely with our partners at Wiltshire Council payroll to ensure records are accurate and the correct pensions are being paid.
527 pensioner records processed as of August
